Laurence Antony is a Canadian contemporary painter who’s style morphs to the realities and subjects depicted in portraiture and landscape painting. Born in 1988, in Montreal, he is influenced from an early age by Japanese and European illustration. While studying Painting and Drawing at Concordia University  and at the school of graphic design St-Luc (ERG), his attention shifts to contemporary painting and installation of larger format. After working in several renowned instituions such as the Museum of Fine Arts of Montreal, the PHI Foundation and the PHI centre, he travels one year to Tokyo where he rediscovers his love for painting and technology by visiting exhibits of Japanese artists. Following his exhibition in London for the Derwent Art Prize, he returns to Montreal working in the field of new technologies while exhibiting in art centres such as the MAI gallery and Le Livart. Using 3D design, found photos and digital paintings as source material, Antony creates images that combine multiple realities into unique and surreal images.
